YAKUT SNOW SHEEP
Yakut Snow sheep (Ovis nivicola), or Siberian bighorn sheep, is a species of sheep from the mountainous areas in Yakut. The strong thickset sheep possesses rather little head with rather short ears, a thick and short neck and the same limbs.

The body weight of a male adult snow sheep makes from 56 to 150 kg, height in withers of 76 - 112 cm, length of a body of 140 - 188 cm. The female of a snow sheep considerably concedes to a male in the sizes. The body weight of a female is from 33 to 68 kg, height in withers of 76 - 100 cm, length of a body is 126 – 179 cm.

Habitats: remote mountain tundra, stony slopes

Distribution: ridges to the East from the Lena River (except the peninsula of Kamchatka, to the south of about 60°N). The Yakut snow sheep (lydekkeri) lives from the Lena River to the East on the Verkhoyansk, Momsky ridges, Chersky Range.

The record of SCI belongs to Alexander Egorov who has got the Yakut snow sheep in August, 2011 in Yakutia.
Characteristics of a trophy: length of the left horn - 41", length of the right horn - 40"; base of the left horn - 14 1/8"; base of the right horn 14 2/8",
a grasp of the left horn on the 1st quarter of length - 13 1/8", a grasp of the right horn on the 1st quarter of length - 13". Quantity of points - 171 2/8".

BASE CAMP

The base camp is located at the height of 1100 m above sea level, represents the bar-shaped house calculated for accommodation of 7 people.

MOBILE CAMP
THE MOBILE CAMP REPRESENTS THE VEHICLE KAMAZ-VAKHTA WITH SPECIALLY THE EQUIPPED BOX FOR ACCOMMODATION OF HUNTERS AND TENTS OF DIFFERENT FUNCTION.
The mobile camp represents the vehicleKamaz-Vakhta with specially equipped box for accommodation of hunters and tent of various appointments. From the mobile camp the hunter accompanied by 2-3 conductors makes pedestrian transition to the intermediate camp on distance of 7-10 km.
INTERMEDIATE CAMP
The intermediate camp is located directly around hunting at the height of 1200-1300 m, represents 1-2 tents on 2-4 persons without excess conveniences.
THE INTERMEDIATE CAMP AT THE FOOT OF MOUNTAINS
Hunting
Hunting is carried out at the height of 1500 - 1700 m, during radial pedestrian movements on 5-7 km from intermediate camps, difference of height of 300 - 500 m. it is in parallel explored by other conductors.
Distance of firing of 300-500 m. Communication between the camp and group is carried out by portable radio sets. For emergencies satellite phone is used.
In case of lack of a trophy the group comes back to the mobile camp. Further the area of hunting changes, the mobile camp within 2-3 hours will transfer the base to other area of hunting for distance of 20-30 km.
